As a work of visual rhetoric and political expression, the meme is being defined and redefined during this election cycle. The memes collected here represent contributions made to various pages on Facebook (including "Bernie Sanders' Dank Meme Stash") since the close of the Democratic National Convention, and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of this author. Rather, they are provided here as a collection of provocative political statements, created, for the most part, by individuals not expecting or anticipating attribution. Do note that some memes contain links or watermarks: this practice is evolving, and may or may not become commonplace. Many contain references to popular culture, television, and film; some rely on the clever use of Photoshop.
