The Meme Is Dead, Long Live the Meme

The final collection of memes collected during the 2016 Presidential election. For more on memes and their influence as a rhetorical device in the 21st century, see my previous posts on this blog.

These memes are presented for informational and entertainment purposes only, and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of this author. The are collected here as a resource, and compiled without attribution-- unless the meme creator insisted on such, through use of a watermark or other signature.

In the history of memes and the 2016 Presidential Election, I believe no group played a larger role than "Bernie Sanders' Dank Meme Stash," a Facebook group. This group grew to include tens of thousands of members, and its moderators were challenged to keep the group's focus on Senator Sanders. Other groups popped up, but none rallied-- and continues to rally-- in the way that matches the efforts of some Sanders supporters.
