Duty Night Music (2006)

Duty Night Music is a collection of original instrumental compositions written and performed by Christopher Smith between August 2004 and July 2006. These tracks were produced in Old Dorm at Vermont Technical College’s Randolph Center campus. This recording includes sound samples from The Weather Channel, the program Saved By the Bell, and a phone recording from Dr. Mitch LesCarbeau, on the death of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. Production was accomplished using a variety of devices, including a Hammond Chord Organ, the legendary “Sea Wasp” electric guitar, an Akai AX73 synthesizer, and more. Some drum tracks and scores were composed using the programs Noteworthy Composer and Drumflow. A handful of these tracks have been previously released on self-published collections and material released by the Don Loans Project.
